Naughty or Nice, SantaCon is Coming to Town

Since its inception back in 1994, SantaCon has grown to become a world-wide phenomenon; with local events taking place in cities around the world – ranging from Moscow to San Francisco.

The events are simple. Participants dress as Santa Claus (or their favorite Holiday themed characters) and gather to participate in pub crawls along designated routes.

SantaCons tend to take on the personalities of their host cities. As a result, some are naughtier while others are nicer; but they all share certain commonalities. No matter what city they are in, SantaCons are all about the costumes and spreading holiday cheer. It’s a fun and creative way to get into the holiday spirit, while enjoying some of your favorite spirits!

Once again, SantaCon is coming to town and will be taking over Northgate on Friday, December 10^th at 8:30PM. This is the 4th year that SantaCon has been held here locally, and this will be the second time that College Station will be recognized as an official SantaCon host city. The event will kickoff at the Corner Bar, and participants will most likely have to wait until arrival at the event to be given the full pub crawl route.
That being said, Santa assures us that a great route has been planned, featuring lots of fun stops and activities.

Excitement is starting to build up and folks are really looking forward to seeing all of the creative costumes. As it says on the event Facebook page, “Dress up as Santa. Dress down as Santa. Be a jolly elf. Be a ninja nutcracker. Stormtrooper Santa, Zombie candy cane, Santa riding a dinosaur, whatever you want. Just be creative! Remember though… a Santa hat alone is not enough!”

There are also some guidelines to help make the local event a success and to ensure that SantaCon remains positive in our community:

SANTA ALWAYS FOLLOWS THESE GUIDELINES:
1. Santa does not make children cry.
2. Santa does not mess with security.
3. Santa knows Santa’s limits. Don’t be THAT Santa.
4. Santa looks out for other Santas.
5. Santa does not drink & drive.
